Frequently Asked Questions

What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is the only medically approved form of permanent hair removal and was invented and refined by doctors. Electrolysis is a course of treatment that permanently removes hair growth when performed by skilled and experienced practitioners. Electrolysis has the longest known track record together with the most effective results for permanent hair removal.

What exactly happens during hair removal?
Electrolysis is performed by inserting a very fine hair-like needle into the follicle (the pocket where the hair sits in your skin). A tiny amount of current is skilfully applied. This reduces the blood supply to the follicle which, through repeated treatments, will limit the hair growth from that particular follicle.

Does it hurt?
Depending on the sensitivity of each individual or the area being treated, there can be minor discomfort felt at the time of treatment. Local anaesthetic creams can be purchased from pharmacies if required.

How many treatments will I need?
It depends on the size of the hair, how often you are willing to come in for treatments and possibly other factors such as hormones or medication you may be currently using. Your personal treatment plan, along with a clear pricing structure, will be provided when you attend your free consultation.
